An experienced SAP BW (Business Warehouse) consultant is required to join a major pharmaceutical company, on a permanent basis, in the UK. The clients landscapes consist of a combination of R/3, ECC6, BI / BW, APO, SRM, LES, EP and various peripheral systems for invoice scanning, etc. ERP Application Support is responsible for supporting all SAP landscapes following an ITIL Process for Incident, Problem, Change Management and Release. Changes required to the system configuration, programs and processes are handled by the 3rd line functional team, who provide the expert knowledge of the SAP supported process across all the SAP templates. The 3rd line functional team, in conjunction with offshore partners and the 3 globally placed support centres, provide a 24x5 support service using a follow the sun principle. Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities for the SAP BW consultant Incident handled by 2nd line that cannot be resolved or require a system change are passed to 3rd line. The key responsibilities of the 3rd line analysts are to:- Analyze change requests to identify the appropriate action and present to the Change Review Board for approval. Plan the delivery of the change and provide a delivery date to the customer. Execute the change including, raising a Change Control, and making configuration changes, coordinating development/security/basis input, testing, documentation updates and deployment to production. Determine root cause for problems Communicate progress of change to the customer Co-ordination and communication with other functional experts if other modules are impacted Supporting the transition of new projects into Application Support Help improve delivery of second line services by proactively identifying and preventing repeated incidents through training, help documents, routine tasks etc. Ensure that the user documentation and operating procedures are up to date. Accountability of the SAP BW Consultant Ensure that the requirements of working in a validated environment are met including adhering to standard operating procedure, reducing risk and ensuring quality. Ensuring the integrity of the production environment Deliver changes according to existing Service Level Agreements Ensure continued customer communication throughout lifecycle of change Complexity of work for the SAP BW consultant Business Knowledge Proven strong knowledge and capabilities in business process area Ability to command respect and excellent working relationships with business users from different areas of the business and peer teams. Supports major change management activities. Specialised Knowledge required from the successful SAP Business Warehouse consultant: Proven skills within challenging SAP BW / BI environments. Proven ability to deliver system issue solutions on-time, on budget with high quality. Experience working in a global company preferred, ideally in a regulated environment.
