Whitehall Resources have a vacancy for a talented SAP Supply Chain Architect to join the permanent team of an international retail chain and become a leading figure in the design and implementation of supply chain solutions throughout the company. A retail background is essential for this role as there are many experts on the team, and in order to lead, credibility must be established from the outset. The Solution Design Team is a part of the UK Development team of this IT Services client and provides analysis and solution design services to the end user client. The purpose of the Supply Chain Architect role is to understand business drivers and requirements; advise on systems solutions and ensure that appropriate integrated system solutions are delivered. The domain architect will take ownership for all IT design aspects of projects within the Supply Chain function of the client, balancing the immediate project needs Vs the overall portfolio, landscape and strategy. Key Accountabilities: Act as an expert in the field of supply chain IT solutions Advise colleagues and customers of feasibility and risks of potential solutions and support creation of project mandates Define and monitor architecture across supply chain domain Monitor and drive consistency across all initiatives in supply chain domain. Work with other domain and enterprise architects to achieve programme consistency Assist project managers in creating and maintaining project plans (focused on, but not exclusively around, design deliverables) Gather and validate requirements from diverse stakeholder groups Facilitate solution options evaluation across technical and non-technical stakeholders, applying own technical and industry expertise Act as an escalation point for architectural decisions Facilitate and arbitrate IT architectural and project design decisions across diverse stakeholder groups Act as project/solution architect for projects as required Input into development of IT strategy, roadmaps and standards Take ownership of, and advise stakeholders on design matters (application and infrastructure) with particular emphasis on the quality aspects of the integrated design Maintain awareness of IT and industry trends and benchmarks Assist with the selection of external vendors to be used within their domain Effective communication and management of stakeholders Provide mentoring, support and guidance to individuals undertaking the role of project architect on supply chain projects Person Specification: Knowledge and practical experience of structured architecture and IT delivery methodologies Knowledge and practical experience of business processes in supply chain Preferably knowledge of home delivery retail supply chain. Knowledge and practical experience of SAP. Specifically ERP (MM & SD) as a minimum. Ideally experience of SAP SCM (event management and F&R) Knowledge and practical experience of solution delivery in a complex, mixed SAP and best of breed environment Ability to rapidly and thoroughly understand the environment in which they will operate (people, applications, technology, process) Systems design experience in a number of significant projects Business analysis / requirements gathering experience in a number of significant projects IT development experience within a professional IT function, including experience of the full development lifecycle, including project inception and post-live support Excellent communication skills Strong influencing skills with demonstrable experience of managing stakeholders across IT and the business at varying levels of seniority.
