Oracle PL/SQL Developer is required by Whitehall Resources for a 6 month contract based in Central London. The ideal candidate will be Responsible for the development and maintenance of Oracle database applications.

Key Responsibilities:
• Development and maintenance of database applications.
• Liaise with Java Developer(s) for data-driven Web application functionality and development.
• Help manage requirements gathering and specification phases of software development process.
• Support new development processes, code enhancement strategies and functionality for Systems team to use.
• Performance testing and tuning of database applications
• Technical and end-to-end process documentation of Database applications
• Adhere to coding standards
• Unit and system testing
• Writing Design Specification and technical design documents
• Working with other developers in the database development team.

• Oracle PL/SQL Programming
• Extensive experience in using Git for keeping Oracle database code bases for version control.
• Performance tuning
• Problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to perform independently and work within a team
• JIRA, JIRA Agile and Confluence experience
• Strong analytical approach to problem solving
• Ability to work well alone or with agility as part of a dynamic team on complex projects
• Good understanding of user requirements.

• Oracle spatial
• Understanding of technical architecture

– We are looking for someone with experience with deploying code via GIT (Bitbucket) as well (in the job spec).
– Oracle Spatial experience is optional
– Immediate start for a period of 6 months
– Has a good balance of technical expertise / communication skills and is able to convey complexity at multiple levels ie end users (non-technical)
– Is a strong team player and able to work as part of a highly capable AGILE based team.
