Performance & Volume Testing Test Specialist

Whitehall Resources are looking for an experienced Test Specialist for an initial 6 month contract in Shropshire. This role is currently remote.

You will be required to use an FCSA Accredited Umbrella company if successful in this role.

What you’ll do:
– Lead the Test Analysts undertaking static test analysis of performance test acceptance criteria, test approach and test evidence, following test execution provided by the technical teams who are doing the performance testing.
– Consolidate test assurance review comments provided from the Test Analysts (i.e. test results)
– Provide technical direction and governance
– Participate in technical review calls to provide input and steer on test direction
– Assure test scenarios from technical documentation and identify any dependencies
– Work with the technical teams to review and assure their performance test scenarios and test evidence
– Ensure all subordinate test documentation and test evidence (e.g. JMeter reports) are produced by the appropriate technical team, with clear traceability back to the acceptance criteria
– Check that the performance tests planned by the teams doing the testing provides appropriate coverage of both expected and unexpected behaviour
– Undertake traceability of the acceptance criteria against the test evidence / results to ensure the component/s have been tested accurately
– Validate infrastructure utilisation statistics from the performance test execution runs undertaken by the technical teams (i.e. CPU, RAM, Memory and Storage capacity)
– Analyse the technical performance data provided and facilitate root cause analysis
– Drive through process improvements, in order to demonstrate the benefits of performance test assurance

Required Skills:
– Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
– Experience of managing Test Analysts
– Strong Performance & Volume Test (PVT) skills
– Infrastructure testing experience (with at least 3 years focused on Non-Functional Testing)
– Good understanding of Risk Based Testing (RBT) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)
– Good understanding of agile delivery lifecycles
– Experience of JIRA and Confluence
– Experience of JMeter and able to review / feedback on infrastructure utilisation statistics provided via App Dynamics
– Able to hold complex test discussions with architects, SMEs and Operational Teams
– Experience of performance bench marking
– An understanding of a schematic diagram of a solution (i.e. components that make up an infrastructure topology (e.g. server, proxy, etc.)
– ISTQB Advanced Level Technical test analyst
