Mission Systems Engineer

Whitehall Resources are currently recruiting for a Mission Systems Engineer for a 6 month project based in London.

Responsibilities:

– Defining requirements and architectures, performing trade-off analysis and supporting the preliminary design of end client’s next-generation satellite-based systems.
– Establishing development plans and roadmaps for maturing cutting-edge technologies in the satcom industry. – Directing development activities across a multi-company and multi-country industrial consortium and managing subcontracts.
– Delivering the agreed scope of work, both internally and externally, to the defined schedule, cost, and risk profile.
– Reviewing data packs from external companies and chairing review meetings.
– Reporting progress regularly to internal stakeholders (Program Team, Senior Management).
– Supporting Proposal generation for future activities.

Required skills & experience:

– Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably in RF or systems engineering
– 5+ years of combined work experience in the space industry, preferably in the satcom domain.
– Experience in space mission design,?satellite developments and related fields.
– Knowledge of the satcom industry and its cutting-edge technologies.
– Experience with subcontractor management.
– Excellent presentation and communications skills, with demonstrated persuasive argument and advocacy skills, balancing these with the art of negotiation, compromise, and sound judgment, as well as verbal and written skills.
– Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
– Strong computer skills and a mastery of Microsoft Office applications.
– Willingness to travel to European and Canadian partner companies.

Desired skills:

– Knowledge of ECSS System Engineering Methodologies.
– Technical Project Management experience.
– Experience in multi-stakeholder project teams
