Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Finance Senior Business Analyst

Are you a qualified finance professional with experience of delivering insightful planning and / or business reporting activities? Do you have a track record of delivering change? As best in class finance support becomes ever more important, this role offers you the chance to work as part of the recently expanded Group Planning and Business Performance function based in Cambridge.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

– Providing analytical and financial modelling support for reviewing and maintaining the Group’s short-to-medium, and longer-term cash flow forecasts and monthly performance reporting and associated analytics (including comparison to latest forecast / budget)
– Delivery of enhanced reliable and efficient processes – via continuous improvement approach
– Analysing business inputs – understanding, challenging and evaluating key business drivers, and ensuring processes are underpinned by consistent assumptions
– Preparation of briefing materials for senior management
– Managing a range of other related ad-hoc requests in support of the senior management & Board
– Partnering with representatives across the Group, including the Cash Generation team and Corporate Finance team
– As the Group Planning & Business Manager, you would be part of a team that covers P&L, Cash Flow and Business Insights, but would initially be focused on our complex Cash Flow.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience required:

– MBA or other Finance/Business qualification e.g. Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
– Excellent academic record
– Significant experience of forecasting and associated analytics
– Advanced modelling skills, Hyperion systems proficiency preferred but not essential
– Ability to deliver succinct, high impact briefing material suitable for Senior Executive Team / Board level audiences
– Proactive and delivery focused, comfortable working in a dynamic, challenging environment
– A clear record of progression in Finance functions within global enterprises
– Energetic, resilient and tenacious
– Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
– Good networking skills

Details/Essential Skills:

– Flexible working – this role would ideally seek a candidate who can offer 4 days on site and 1 from home. However, when learning the ropes – they would expect this person to be onsite for 5 days and then phase this out as they can work independently
– Solid financial knowledge – good excel modelling/systems experience
– GCS – Group consolidation system/Hyperion is what they use – so someone with good financial systems expertise would be essential
– Qualified Accountant – ACA/CIMA/ACCA considered – previous experience of financial planning and analysis would be good – experience in the cycle of reporting in this type of environment
– Pharma/Life Sciences experience would be a nice to have – not essential – However, someone who has worked in a Group role within a highly pressurised/focused deadline arena where they have performed a consolidation and reporting role would be successful in this role
– Cash forecasting experience – they would be having regular meetings and have a high profile role subsequently to very senior stakeholders within the c-suite level and be speaking with the CFO (2nd in command to the MD) so – this person would have to be very articulate/present themselves in a very confident and assured manner and see this as an opportunity to gain visibility to the high level decision makers. This role has a great deal of exposure
