Solution Architect – Clinical Supply Chain

Whitehall Resources are looking for an experienced Solution Architect for an initial 6 month contract.

The successful candidate can be based out of either client’s office in Cambridgeshire or Cheshire.

Architecture Accountabilities:
– You will be responsible for the elements of the solution architectures within the Development and Quality portfolio.
– You will contribute to the solution architecture principles and standards for the Development and Quality portfolio.
– You will be responsible for the architecture and design of solutions that meet business requirements and are aligned to and comply with the client’s Enterprise Architecture guidelines and standards.
– You will document all architecture analysis and design work using the appropriate architecture documentation templates.
– You will be responsible for guiding and supporting other architects (including third party suppliers) in the development and documentation of IT architectures for complex and business critical projects.
– You will provide analysis to solution selection decisions, buy versus build decisions, and early-phase project estimates which contribute to business cases.
– You will ensure that common architecture decisions support the business and IT strategy, and that the architectures delivered are aligned with relevant architecture standards, blueprints and roadmaps.
– You will analyse alternative solution options, document them and provide recommendations for key design decisions as part of the architecture design and blueprint process.
– You will participate in architecture assessments & reviews either as a domain authority in the review team.
– You will help to develop the architecture capability within IT, by documenting and sharing knowledge and standard methodologies with peer architects.
– You will provide domain expertise to ensure business opportunities are identified and realised in line with a standard and cost-effective solution architecture.
– You will build estimates for solution delivery including expertise to validate third party estimates and hence ensure value for money.
– You will define and document architecture standards for the relevant domain area and deliver feedback on how to improve architecture standards.
– You will document standard methodologies, drive re-use of existing solutions and, in collaboration with other architects, promote solutions for re-use.

Technology Skills – experience of two or more is desirable:
– Validated solution architect experience in the application architecture domain and preferably one other architecture domain (integration, infrastructure, data, or security).
– Experience designing end-to-end solutions that operate across all domains of IT.
– Validated skills and experience in solution architecting large projects.
– Experience of writing solution options documents, high level solution design documents (blueprints) and documenting key design decisions.
– Experience across a variety of Operations capability areas i.e. Supply Chain and Distribution, Procurement, Manufacturing, Factory Operations or Quality, BI & Information (Master Data).
– Experience of large scale solution selection phase work – product evaluation and business case formulation.
– Experience with policies, procedures and guidelines within a quality, compliant, and secure environment.
Technical Knowledge, Skills & Experience
– Validated solution architect experience in the application architecture domain and preferably one other architecture domain (integration, infrastructure, data or security).
– Solution architecture experience in the pharmaceutical or supply chain domain. In addition, we are ideally seeking an architect with some knowledge and experience of Clinical Trial design and supply.
