Test Assurance Lead

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Test Assurance Lead based in Shropshire for an initial 6-month contract.


– Will be the assurance capability lead (transient role)
– Implementation and co-ordination of the End-to-End Assurance and Test Strategy in the systems development life cycle
– Ensures releases to production environments are fully compliant to assurance standards and E-2E service SLA’s/KPI’s
– Provision of technical direction and governance (for Assurance and Testing), liaison with the clients test authority to ensure consistent interpretation of our mutual test strategies
– Innovative assurance solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness
– Product delivery implementation activities, managing deliverables, project budgets, planning and forecasting, involved in recruitment and rotation plans, Providing test direction for the area

Champion good assurance practices across DG:
– Masterclasses
– Coach/mentor
– Assurance strategy
– DG representative to external bodies where assurance required
– Analysing new work and changes to existing projects to estimate the effort needed and to determine people and test environment requirements Producing the project test strategy and/or test approach
– Creating detailed test schedules, including identifying the dependencies on other areas
– Ensuring all subordinate test documentation is produced by the appropriate individual and reviewed
– Planning and managing all test stages for the project including co-ordination with external teams and attending project checkpoint meetings
– Authorising the completion of test stages and arranging sign-off with the client and other key stakeholders
– Coaching and mentoring more inexperienced TM/TLs

Mandatory tech skills:
– Proven track record in software assurance, tools and technique working with delivery & service teams and T&RS specialists.
– Test Management, Agile, Testing methodologies
– Microsoft Project/OWB, ISEB Practitioner or equivalent

Mandatory business skill:
– Test Management skills (including testing types, methodologies and testing life cycles) to include awareness of industry standards, Leadership and communication skills, Delegation and prioritisation skills
– Automated testing skills (IBM Rational tool set)
